Special Lab Features
With more than 30 years of Lab expertize and RX applications, our Lab department is ready to accomplish the most difficult designs in lens cutting methods. Our Lab production line is of latest technology & automations.
GHF is certified from Zeiss Vision as a reliable manufacturer of Z logo branded sunglasses. We have several customers who are using Z logo branded sunlenses from Zeiss and we have the license to make production of Zeiss logo sunglasses. Every new model with Z logo lenses which is manufactured in our factory, is certified by Zeiss for its accuracy and perfection.
We use various specialized etching processes to make optical frames and sunglasses the faux wood look. There several options to choose from:
outward-facing surfaces, leaving everything that touches the face polished and smooth.
inside and outside (full surface) wood look, to imitate 100% the wood effect.
smooth wood effect, with light process on the surface of the frame.
hard wood effect, with deeper etches that come closer to real wood.
We specialize in implementing metal decors on the frames in several options like:
Metal décor pinned outside.
Metal décor inserted in the acetate with transparent epoxy resin
Metal décor integrated inside the acetate.
Metal décor at the end tip of the temple.
Metal décor on the back of the hinge.
Riveted hinges that apply pin decors, either 2 pin or 1 pin décor with various shapes and style.

Combination – Mixed materials
The combination of different materials like acetate and metal parts requires knowledge and craftsmanship. Attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of materials is part of our expertise.
Our design team supports our customers in all steps of the creation of a new design by providing hints & tips on the designs and the materials that is better to use each time. The finishing method of mixed materials products requires an extra level of quality check which we have included in our 43 quality check point list.
One of the most important quality check points on a frame, are hinges. They carry most of the pressure of the frame and its functionality.
We specialize in the old school traditional high quality manufacturing, rivet hinges. Rivet hinges, 5-barrel or 7-barrel, require a high level of craftsmanship, European standards of eyewear production and precise handmade processes.
We collaborate with all the high class Italian factories for metal parts and hinges, like Visottica, Ideal and the German OBE. We try to enhance our customer’s design requirements with the latest state of the art hinges and systems that will add value to their final products.

In-house gold plating
The gold plating finishing is a very sensitive procedure and in order to ensure high results all gold plating procedures are made in-house. We offer multiple choices of gold plating from 18k to 24k or even special requests for more luxury applications.
We constantly invest in Research & Development, using new materials, adopting new production methods and styles and taking advantage of the new emerging technologies in order to deliver better products and increase the customer satisfaction.
In the field of materials we are from the first manufacturers who have used the new “M49 bioplastic by Mazzucchelli”, which is 100% recyclable, 100% ecofriendly and 100% biodegradable.
Our factory is using the ISO 14001:2015 in order to operate in an eco-friendly operations plan.
The most common laminations that we expertize are:
Acetate on acetate lamination for a multilayer outcome for fronts and temples
Acetate near acetate for temples in order to deliver a color changing pattern
Specific point of acetate lamination, we call it acetate replacement, where a specific point on the frame has different color or pattern
Acetate on fabric, to deliver a unique fabric feel on the frame with crystal layer on the front
Acetate on special foils with different patterns
We use several lamination technics in order to serve the design requirements of our customers.
There are many readymade lamination color sets from the best Italian acetate factories that we collaborate, like Mazzucchelli & LAES, but we can help our customers to be unique. We can deliver custom laminations according to our customer instructions or our design team proposals.
We follow the highest quality standards and materials in processing matte finish. Matte finish is achieved by individually sand blasting each frame until the perfect smooth texture is achieved.
All our processes and treatments we develop them in-house, in our own production facility, in order to guarantee a high class quality for our products.
Our artisans expertise in matt masking by applying matt finishing in parts of the product by maintaining part of the shiny details with perfect feeling.
A reliable method of marking or decorating eyewear is by using epoxy resin. Our artisans expertise in epoxy decoration and we can accomplish high-end & luxury applications for distinctive designs and markings.
We apply epoxy resin in multiple colors and shapes on the frames. Also, we insert metal decors in acetate and cover them with transparent epoxy resin.
Our in-house design Team collaborates with our customers to explain and apply such treatments in their designs.
Secret recipe for finishing
Our expertise in finishing is distinctive and easy to understand when you touch a pair of sunglasses that is produced in GHF. We have developed a secret recipe after years of R&D in the processes.
We have adopted the old school traditional Italian production methods of luxury eyewear and we changed some stages of productions in combination with new materials (from Greek nature) that enhance the quality of the final outcome. It takes 72 different phases of production to have a final pair of sunglasses with more than 30 artisans to collaborate in this creation.
